How do I get started as an outfitter?
You Must secure a $10,000 Surety Bond
You must have liability insurance
(Only a few insurance companies across the US carry these types of insurance. So start with your insurance provider and they will give the names of companies in your area).
Obtain necessary permits for National Forest (NF) or Bureau of Land Management (BLM) if you will be outfitting in those areas. (Call those offices directly you can find the telephone numbers for those agencies on our website under "Other Resources"). Contact the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) about registering as a licensed outfitter.
